Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is the festival of brotherhood

 you go to your brother or someone you want to be your brother

put a dot of red paint on their forhead

put a little yellow powder on top

and stick a couple grains of rice in the concoction

you then tie a ribbon around his wrist

and feed him a sweet

this shows your devotion to him

now before you boys get to excited about this vip treatment,

in exchange the brother has to protect his sister

and support her financialy

cool right?

birthday party!

there was a puppet show

from what i could understand it was funny

the kids laughed too

 this poor guy is the birthday boy

he was put in front of an audience...

 blasted with confetti...

 and had cake shoved in his face

after the fun and games,

i had fun chaceing these two girls around

my very few days at sp college

i spent a grand total of 2 weeks at sp

 before i begged to which schools 

the 2 exchange students are mara and elin

 there are more scooters and motercycles in pune

then i have ever seen before in my life

here's proof:

 so, on my second day in poona,

yes, that's right,

MY SECOND DAY IN POONA

(shabnum denies this by the way)

shabnum took me to this protest

 we were protesting the development of poona's hills

i got some odd looks for being there

but shabnum explained that i was there because this was an international issue

see that ribbon in my hair?

that was originally an arm band

i was helping make and destribute these bands

there was this one guy who was having trouble tieing his arm band

so i helped out and tied it for him

within 5 sec there were 50 other guys who wanted their arm bands too

now imagine,

you never been in a foreign country before,

you hate crowds in general and you're jetlagged.

now imagine 50 guys surrounding shoving their arms in your dirention,

all of them shouting that they want me to tie their arms too

scary right?

well it's not as bad as it sounds.

after a couple of min a few girls interceded 

and i was able to enjoy the rest of the march

almost there

this was my first look at the pasific ocean

dramatic i know

 and yes, that is on anchor hanging in the middle of the air port

beach

so in case you don't remember, we got to the beach and crashed...

 then got up and ran for the beach

 then i had fun fiddling with my camera

 then the famous jigsaw puzzle that took us forever
